Silvio I passed his stallion performance test in Adeheidsdorf in 1990, recieving particularly high scores for his jumping ability.  He was awarded the I-b main premium by the Oldenburg Association in 1991.

Silvio's sire, Sandro, is a foundation sire of great forcefulness in terms of type and appearance and a mainstay of the Schockemoehle breeding program.  An active international showjumper under Franke Sloothaak, he passed on his exceptional jumping ability to his progeny. The bottom side of Silvio's pedigree (his mare line) has greatly influenced showjumping through the bloodline of Gepard/Gotthard, who were outstanding sires of showjumpers.  The same mating combination of Gelbkatze-Sandro produced the full-brother Silvio II, who in 1993 finished his stallion performance test in Medingen with the highest jumping index of the year.  The grandam Rhododendron who derives from the fabulously handsome thoroughbred Ballboy xx, was mated with Palermo, to produce the vice-champion of the year in 1987, P.S. Palm Springs, who was sold at the PSI auction for an absolutely top price and later became an advance class showjumper.  Silvio I and II derive from the venerable Oldenburg damline of Rodenande, which i.a. also produced the approved stallions Going for Gold, Grannus-Grande and Weltstar. Silvio's World Champion son Shutterfly has made international showjumping news since 2001 under the guidance of Meredith Michaels Beerbaum. Silvio also sired Sergeant Pepper in 1996 and Sternstunde, who was reserve champion of 6-year-old jumping horses at the FEI World Breeding Championships in Zangersheide.

It's important to note that Silvio's sire, Sandro, is also the sire of the famous dressage sire Sandro Hit. A Silvio son, Sir Louis, (a full brother to our mare Easy Go) was reserve German National Young Horse Champion and won the Pavo Cup in Holland in dressage. Silvio has also sired many notable daughters, such as Tettina, who was European champion at the international mare show in Brussels in 1999, and Toviana, who was reserve champion at the same event. On the dam side of our mare Feodana (Silvi) we have Futuro who is considered one of the most famous sons of Furioso. He is particularly noted as a great mare producer as well as the sire of many show jumpers. This Furioso blood is often considered "old type" and it's significant that Silvi's dam'sline includes the TB stallion Makuba xx, who was approved by Oldenburg to add length of leg to the equation. Our mare Silvi, who stands 17h, is a powerhouse of a mare with a beautiful front end and an overall uphill build. She competed in jumping in Germany, although she has the movement to also be a dressage horse. She produced two foals in Germany (one is a dressage horse and the other a jumper) and several foals here in the US and all that are of competition age have been successful in their disciplines.    Some of Silvi's US offspring are pictured below. Silvi is confirmed pregnant to Florianus for 2016.
